A black belt story

Updated: Feb 10, 2022

Thanks to my mother, who insisted that I should grow strong, internally and externally, thanks to my mother who used to ensure that I wake up very early to go for my karate classes, thanks to my mother who used to apply medicine to my injuries with utmost care ensuring I never miss a class and thanks to my mother, my karate teacher and my own interest that made me who I am - A black belt holder; it means I never quit, I am resilient to pain, I have the confidence, discipline, dedication and tenacity to pursue being what I want to become and what I want to achieve.

It is from the deep recess of my mind and heart I wish that every parent of a child, especially a girl child, encourages their child to learn some or the other form of martial arts to build their self-confidence, strengthening the child internally and externally.

The martial arts are ultimately self-knowledge. A punch or a kick is not to knock the hell out of the guy in front, but to knock the hell out of your ego, your fear, or your hang-ups. Bruce Lee

There is none who cannot teach somebody something, and there is none so excellent but he is excelled. - Baltsar Gracian

I am me, having fun ;-). So many changes as the time passes. Feeling good to find myself again and again going back and forth in time with a glimpse of myself in each of these photos. As I am in the making of myself, I am going to present more photos, finding more smiles, more moments, more journeys, more paths,...and more as my life goes on.

As George Bernard Shaw aptly said - Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.
