Sometimes I run into someone who says, 'I admire the way you face life. I look up to you." I ask myself, "What is different or special about what I do or how I behave that some say they look up to me for inspiration, guidance?" Can we be even sure whether our own children are inspired by us?
So when my dear friend, DOP Varam, who is also a painter, gifted this painting to me the other day and explained in all sincerity what it was all about, I wondered how sometimes without our knowing we could be inspiring others. Thank you, Varam, for honoring me as the subject of your painting. I am not qualified to critically evaluate paintings but I love the colors, the figures and what you have conceptualised. Now, whenever I see the painting on the wall of my room, I have to remind myself that some people are indeed looking up to me!!
