Have been a bit late, getting around to watching Anvesh Michael’s web series Kotha Poradu on the Aha streaming platform. But now that I’ve seen it, I’m wondering about my choice of words. Should I say. “I’ve seen the episodes” or should I say, “I’ve experienced the episodes, almost as if I have been a part of them”?
Most times, when we watch a film or a TV series, we know we are mere spectators of the narrative. It takes a great story-teller to draw us into the narrative, making us feel completely immersed in it. As the end credits come up, we feel like we’ve suddenly returned from a journey into another world.
Much has already been said and written about Kotha Poradu - the story, the settings, the performances, the direction. Anvesh Michael deserves all the praises, all the success for reminding us that a seemingly simple story about ordinary, everyday characters can also dramatically capture our attention and imagination. Along with Anvesh, actors like Sai Prasanna, Raj Tirandasu, Jagadeesh Pratap Bandari other cast lived their respective roles! The producers Mahi Illindra and Tanvi Desai deserve great applause for producing such good content and encouraging new talent!
